Birth-to-three unit - The children are separated into the Explorers (birth-2y) and the Little Learners (2-3 y) they all have the use of two large rooms, a dedicated under 3's play area and a separate dining room.
• The play room with access to the outside area offers an assortment of activities and equipment to challenge the children's development, always encouraging their independence and allowing them to perfect their skills. There is also a soft play area, and various heuristic equipment which stimulates the children's senses.
• Creative/Messy play room – this room offers the children a variety of creative and messy play experiences, as well as developing the children's imaginative play through the small world, and role-play equipment available all day every day.

The children benefit from carefully planned activities and stimulating equipment that nurtures each child's individual development. Free play is a big part of the children's day which helps develop their imagination and independence, the equipment on offer allows the children to play independently or within a group.
All the staff will stimulate the children in imaginative ways with a variety of activities. There will be plenty of messy and creative play available every day which will involve activities to encourage the early skills of hand eye co-ordination and pencil control. The daily activities will be more challenging for those children that are more able.
As the children get older friendships will form, through these friendships they will be encouraged to share. Communication and language will also be developing and improving, which will be supported and developed further still by all staff. The children will also be encouraged to express their feelings in a positive manner.
